CANDLE CARE
1. Light the Candle
- First Use: When burning your candle for the first time, allow it to burn for 2–3 hours. This helps the wax melt evenly all the way to the edges of the container, preventing tunnelling, where unused wax remains around the sides.
- Regular Use: For subsequent burns, allow the candle to burn for at least 1–2 hours to ensure an even melt and optimal fragrance distribution.
2. Trim the Wick
- Wick Length: Trim the wick to approximately 5–7 mm before lighting the candle. This helps prevent soot and ensures a cleaner, more controlled burn.
- Wick Maintenance: If you notice that the wick becomes sooty or too long while burning, extinguish the candle, allow it to cool, trim the wick, and then relight it.
3. Avoid High Temperatures
- Candle Placement: Place the candle on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface. Make sure it is away from drafts, as air currents can affect the flame and the way the candle burns.
- Keep Away from Heat Sources: Do not place the candle near heat sources such as radiators, ovens, fireplaces, or direct sunlight.
4. Never Leave the Candle Unattended
- Supervision: Never leave a burning candle unattended. Do not burn the candle while sleeping or when leaving your home.
- Safety: Keep the candle out of reach of children and pets, as the flame and hot wax may cause burns or pose a fire hazard.
5. Store Properly
- Cool and Dry Place: Store the candle in a cool, dry place. Heat and humidity can affect the quality of the wax and the fragrance.
- Avoid Direct Sunlight: Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may cause changes in the candle’s colour, texture, or fragrance.
6. Reuse the Container
- Cleaning the Container: Once the candle has completely burned down, allow the container to cool fully before handling it. Remove any remaining wax and clean the container with warm water and soap.
- Creative Reuse: Give your container a new purpose by using it for small plants, pencils, makeup brushes, or other personal items.
7. Important Note
- Safety: Regularly inspect the candle for any signs of damage, such as cracks in the container or a loose or detached wick. If you notice any damage or unusual changes, discontinue use and do not burn the candle.
